My work is inspired by the busy streets of Malaysia, I took inspiration from my childhood memories at Pandamaran Klang, a place filled with people and honking vehicals surrounded by tin-roofed eateries. Using various gestalt principals like closure, proximity and continuity, I was able to tie the artwork together and narrate interactions between the sibjects inside. Furthermore, the horse and hand gesture are writtern as “马来” , if put together with the top “这是” with the middle part “西” and the bottom “亚”, it reads: “This is Malaysia“ in Chinese.
